Kontron recently introduced its new CP6016 CompactPCI Processor Board targeted at rugged Reliability, Availability, Scalability, Manageability (RASM) applications. This 6U CompactPCI Board is powered by high performance and low-power 45nm Intel Core2 Duo processor T9400.

The new CompactPCI Processor Board offers up to 16 GB dual-channel 667 MHz DDR2 registered ECC memory via two SO-RDIMM sockets, providing up to 8.5 GB/sec data throughput. This PICMG 2.16-compliant board is designed for bandwidth intensive applications and meets the highest the demands for the management of high-availability applications.

Kontron CP6016 CompactPCI Processor Board features a XMC site according to XMC.3 supporting x8 PCI Express (alternatively a 64-bit/133MHz PCI PMC site), an onboard 2.5-inch SATA hard disk and USB NAND Flash device.

The Intel ICH9R I/O Controller Hub provides advanced I/O technology including USB 2.0 and Serial ATA300. Five independent Gigabit Ethernet ports (3x ports at the front and 2x for full PICMG 2.16 support) provide comprehensive connectivity capabilities, enabling innovative applications today by offering enough room for the emerging next generation requirements.

The Kontron CP6016 CompactPCI 6U processor board runs with Linux, Microsoft Windows XP, XP embedded or Windows Server 2003. Highly integrated support packages support all onboard hardware devices, and also specific features like Hotswap, IPMI, power and thermal management, enabling effortless integration among scalable multi-CPU systems.
